Children's Day

Last week we celebrated Children’s Day at school. It is a national holiday here in Korea devoted to spoiling children and playing. We had some fun games and prizes of the kids. It so nice to see the kids smiling and playing for once. They are always forced to study and be serious so it’s nice to see them let loose.

I spent the weekend at my favorite little city getaway, Muuido island. I went back in the fall and it was a bit chilly. Now that it is May we were able to wear swim suits. It still cooled down at night and we bundled up in hoodies and blankets. We went for Amanda’s Birthday. It was such a relaxing weekend.

I wish I could tell you did something super intense and cool but literally all we did was lay on the beach, play guitar, read, and take very short slow walks. I don't think I’ve ever relaxed so much since I’ve been in Korea. At night we had some BBQ on the beach and watched the sun set. We had a campfire and went to bed by 11- party animals- I know. It was just the weekend I needed.

I love this island so much- actually- I'm going back Saturday with the girls from my neighborhood =) Life is good!
